Plans for 2021 World Dairy Expo Still Uncertain
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/04/2021

With Dane County still under strict health restrictions due to the pandemic, organizers of World Dairy Expo say plans for the 2021 show cannot yet be finalized. In a memo to sponsors and the media on Wednesday, WDE Communications Specialist Katie Schmitt said the board recognizes that uncertainty remains surrounding future health regulations that may govern public events held in Madison this fall.

"Due to World Dairy Expo's role as the gathering place of an essential global industry, the organization's leadership is simultaneously exploring alternative venues for hosting the 2021 show," Schmitt said. "A decision regarding the location of World Dairy Expo 2021, in its entirety, will be made by the WDE Executive Committee later this spring after all options and implications are thoroughly reviewed."

As of now, the 54th World Dairy Expo is currently scheduled for September 28 through October 2 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

The letter stated that Expo's leadership has been in talks with Dane County and Alliant Energy Center officials regarding current and potential future local COVID-19 restrictions.
